  to all posters: Thank you for your comments but felt they deserved a bit more info than you have at hand. The Properties committee at church found it necessary to manage the parking for a number of reasons ... first and foremost money. The membership would love to provide parking for free but, as a traditional downtown church, we simply do not have the money available for keeping up the lots, lighting and cleanup. We were able to work a deal with Republic Parking to keep our rates well under anywhere else it town ($5 vs. $7) and you will hopefully see some improvements in the surface of the lots as well as much needed lighting and landscaping.
  
  All church attended functions will continue with free parking and we hope those of you who have parked with us in the past will consider a monthly parking pass to offset keeping you safe in our lots. I am certain that the congregation would love for you to drop by and worship, become a member or simply say hello and help us with spreading the good news.
  
  Please know that the decision was made to do this after 5 or more years of having no budget to fix things, 7 sub committees and countless others who had hoped we could still provide what no entity in downtown Knoxville will provide ... free parking. Even though some of the comments below are hard to hear, thank you for caring enough about our continued and shared mission in life to make your feelings known.

  This congregation helps makes everyone feel welcome in the house of the Lord. I'm so glad I decided to go on one Sunday morning service.
  
  If you're lookin' for a church that doesn't discriminate based on age, sex sexual preference / sexual orientation, gender or color this is definitely a place for you, your family & friends.
  
  And I really enjoy the choir, the sermon, and the classes offered to the younger children. What a wonderful place to be with a warm & kind hearted place to come together as a community.
  
  All my love goes out to the staff & all the members that attend the service there.

  I've been a member of Church St for over 4 years and I've enjoyed it SO much. For those of you googling churches and maybe church shopping I would hope that you would come to a Sunday service with us and worship with us. God Bless!
